We've all heard about the of being 'on the waiting list' before getting medical treatment. What a lot of people don't realise is that you have to get on the waiting list first - which can mean an even longer wait. This article talks about this. That's why we recommend health insurance to our clients (and paying for your adult children's health insurance as well!). Insure only for hospital/surgical treatment and use a high excess to keep the premium down. For a family of four you're talking in the order of $100 a month (depending on the parents age).
